Project: Whitelightning 2 - Street Mod/Trackday/DD
Might as well start up a project thread on this one.
I'm on the fence about it at this point but highly likely that this will be my AX car for 2011. I have no garage to build a badass RX7 in so I'll just make this one fun. ![]() 1991 Cavalier Z24 - 143k miles on the chassis, factory 5 speed with an EZClutch Stage 3 clutch, freshly rebuilt 3400 swapped in with ported heads and intake, 3500 style exhaust manifolds, solid mounts, WAI with AEM Dryflow filter, and full mandrel bent 2.25" exhaust with a Hooker Aerochamber crossflow for a 4th gen F-body. First up will be a complete suspension freshening: - Koni Yellows (have rears, need front inserts for a 3rd Gen J) - Ground Control Coilover kit for the front (3rd Gen J) - Replace front stamped LCAs with tubular style LCAs - Beretta rear axle with added internal swaybar to supplement external bar - Daytona/Neon rear disc swap - 15" lightweight wheels for the V700s I already have - (?) N/W/F front brake swap Then after I get a garage, it'll be boost time. ![]() Updates as I get stuff...hopefully I can order some of the stuff after Christmas.

So, not sure if this will be running this coming weekend or not...
Both axles need to be replaced. The driver's side sounds like a playing card in a bike spoke and I can see where the boot is split and grease has gotten all over the subframe. ![]() I'm gonna work on some creative financing to see what I can get done this week to replace both axles ($130 for the pair and probably a bottle or two of Synchromesh @ $7/qt) and find a place to change them out. On the plus side, I did take it out to Gatlinburg with us and took it out on the curvy mountain roads. I enjoyed it immensely. ![]() Scenic pics from the Foothills Parkway (not far from TOTD): ![]() ![]() ![]()

Not bad, Scott! This car actually has some potential...moreso than the Saturn, anyway.

Wheels are on the list. I like the Beretta Indy rims but they just look so...plain. Looking at some Moda MD10s for it in a 16x7.
I've got a laundry list for it once we get into a house. All kinds of suspension work, maybe a Holset HX40 or a Garrett T04E turbo running 8-10psi. If OB thought it was amusing before, he might really enjoy it pushing 350ish HP.

"The Clap" can take a while to show symptoms.

So is this a supercharged 3800 and it bolts right up to the stock cavy trans?

Still has the stock 5 speed Getrag that was behind the 3.1 though. Trans bolts to both the 3100/3400/3500 blocks and the 3800 but the 3800 requires flywheel modifications and mount fabrication since it's a 90* V6.
