The rb20 and rb25 do not require pan modification, the rb26 does due to the front diff passing through the pan. I have been working with Nesar at JDM-Online.com for the last couple of months trying to find a clean set. He has been great with his customer service, and they are one of the only companies that you can get actual engine photos, and they also video the compression test for you. Once I recieve my set I will give a full review.

It has been a while since any updates, no big updates at this point but I have been starting doing odds and ends on the car.

Mostly cleaning and painting things...
Pushed it out of the garage and gave it a bath...

Rear diff

smoked running lights and tail lights...

I still have a ton of stuff to do, but I plan getting more involved with this project throughout the summer

Stay tuned!

Well...this project has been stale for awhile now. But after alot of back and forth of whether or not to build the engine or go back with a SR, I have decided to put up or shut up and build the RB. I have the engine at Stewart's and it will be freshened up with new pistons, and updated crank collar.

I have finally bought my engine and trans mounts along with a R33 Skyline crossmember which will allow the engine to set lower and further back than with the adapter brackets made for the S14 crossmember, not to mention stronger

I will try and update this a little more often...

Well...since the wife and I are expecting a new addition to our family (a son!) I have decided that I am going to cut the cost of my build in half and part ways with the RB. Everything in theory of building the RB was great except the price, just about everything is twice the price of what it is for the SR so...I put the RB back together and sold it off

But the bright side is I found a killer deal on a S14 Kouki SR20DET swap and received it on Friday.

My plans for this is to get it up and running with some minor bolt-ons (For now!) and enjoy the car, I am leaning more towards Road Course, and autox now.

Stay tuned more to come...

Since I am a picky bastard I started some clean up. The engine was farily clean to begin with but the more I looked at it, the more I had to clean it up before I put it in the freshly painted engine bay.

I tried various different cleaners on some test pieces but just couldnt find anything to do what I wanted. I thought of painting the aluminum pieces cast but didnt want to put up with peeling paint in the end. So I bought a small soda blaster and gave it a whirl...

I still have more that I want to do but I need to get a little courser soda to get out some of the deeper stuff.

Stay tuned...

No big updates yet, but I have been sourcing some parts and finally some of them are coming in. I had a couple key items damaged during shipping that I didnt notice right away until I started cleaning things up. The 2 big things were the CAS and the upper coolant neck, both were cracked during shipping because the engine shifted on the pallet. Only have a few more things to get before I can really start moving on getting the engine and trans in the car.

So far I have picked up a Greddy intercooler, upper coolant neck, speed sensor, and new oem harness...

More to come....

First off on April 18, 2011 my son Griffin Alexander was born so time has been very limited to say the least.
