Project German Muscle

Bought a new car this past weekend...

What is this for?

Oh, it's for this

Specs:
1995 Audi 90 Quattro Sport
-4.2L 32V V8 swap (ABH engine code; 280hp stock)
-034 Motorsports IIc standalone with COP conversion, #30 injectors, and harness
-Vogtland springs/Bilsteins
-Custom exhaust

To be installed:
-S.S. brake lines
-RS2 replica front swaybar
-FG RS2 front bumper
-3 spoke sport airbag steering wheel

Also came with a spare transmission and TONS of extra parts (several boxes).

Needs some work to get it up and fully running and then some tuning. Should have that all done in a few weeks. Need to size up a radiator and order one. Once it's up and running reliably then the Coupe will be up for sale so I can get back down to two cars.

Got it fired and idleing pretty nicely. Not going to do much tuning until I get a wideband (ordering this week). Need to do something with the exhaust as it sits low and has a leak.

Also picked up some new wheels for cheap (ABT 16x7.5's ET35)

Found the exhaust leak, all 3 bolts on one header->downpiper connection were loose. Tightened two out of three, have to go buy a wrench that'll fit to get the 3rd as I can't get at it with a normal one due to the subframe being in the way.

Cleaned up the wiring and secured it. Also got the intake plumbed. Still need a 3" extension to bring the filter closer to the fender and then build a heatshield.

Fixed the exhaust leak. Radiator and wideband are on order and should be here next week.

Contemplating installing the spoiler I have too.

Without:

With:

If I can find them, I think it would look good with the spoiler extensions from the Audi 80 Competition:

Wideband is in! LC-1

Gauge I am getting for it (works perfectly with the LC-1)(have a few that I've used for some projects at work and they work great): auberins.com, Temperature control solutions for home and industry
/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5&products_ id=19&zenid=b1a1c1010acdcd2d75a579f62c5a0c4e

Audi S2 avant rear hubs which I will be using for the 5lug conversion in the front:

Picked up some B5Q rear hub/brake assemblies to convert the rear to 5x112 from 4x108. Also picked up a cheap harbor freight flux welder ($50) so I can fix the exhaust and learn how to weld better. Going to order another radiator next week as the one I ordered doesn't fit like I thought it would. But the good news is it's perfect for the 944 so I'll be keeping it.

Picked up some AEC heads (euro S6; 290hp; larger valves, smaller valve stems) that I'm going to mod and then install somewhere down the line. Should be a quick swap once I have them ready to go on. Got all the tools for the belts. Did some test fitting with the ABZ intake manifold I have sitting around and it fits with the exception of one stud on the heads that will need to be removed (5 studs on the AEC heads, 4 holes on the ABZ intake).

Fixed the tach triggering by adding the v6 phases to the triggers.

Something funky is going on with the alternator. All the lights get brighter under revs (dash and taillights). Gotta check to see what alternator is being run (V6 or V8) and probably get it tested. Another issue I'm having is the power steering pump is just a bit out of alignment so the belt is jumping on and of by a rib. Going to see if I could add a spacer to the pulley to get it aligned correctly.

Personally if I wanted small, nimble, good gas milage and no rust, I would own a Mini. However, I want space, fun to drive, loud as fuck, forced induction, hood scoop, and AWD.
