Project: '01 Cobra Jet

My DD needed some attitude and it was plain with its V6 hood and spoiler and the only thing keeping it unique from a GT/V6 was the front end and rear bumper saying cobra.

So with some minor upgrades and just general maintenance of giving it some love.

So far I did a brake job by replacing the pads with Satisfied GS6's, Painted the rotors where the pad doesn't touch. I did this on foxrod and it really makes a difference. Sandblasted the stock calipers and repainted them in black. Picked up some 18x10/18x9 Chrome Saleen wheels with 305/30/18 nitto drags and 275/35/18 nitto 555's. Also installed some KB loweiring springs, Bilstien struts/shocks, new eurathane swaybar bushings. Waiting on some IRS bushings for the subframe and diff to install with a diff brace.

Also a friend is painting my white spoiler semi flat black. Picked up a Mach 1 hood on ebay, picked up a shaker at a swap, and fabricated some brackets since the cost $$$$$ a lot. Today I finished the brackets and mounted the shaker.

I'll post more pics later.

Clean looking car with modest mods that just look good together and work well together. Too bad less than 5% of modded cars can say the same.

Its same old story all the really fast cars don't look fast and all the flashy cars aren't fast. Hence the reason for my mods, it ain't fast it ought to look and sound like it.

I sold the chrome 18" saleens with tires and bought a set of 10th anny. that are the silver Ford racing with a set of all seasons. I also picked up a set of michelin alpine snow tires on 94 cobra wheels.

I'll say my favorite part of the car, is even though it will blow your eardrums from outside the car, when you're on the highway cruising in it, it's damn comfortable and really pretty quiet!!

Where do I start, well last summer I had my first overheat situation. Then a few days later a pool of water on a really hot day. The rear water exit from the head has a external pipe that rusted and was leaking. So like any gearhead, if you gotta pull the trans, then upgrades are a given.

As any repair not everything goes as planned and ran into a snag, which is an issue on the aluminum dohcs with steel bolts. The trans bolts siezed in the block up top and we threw everything at it including a ford tech paid in beer. His recommendation was pull the engine and it would be much easier, well I didn't want to. So I pulled the upper intake and still not enough clearance. Then life got in the way and I got busy at work. Next thing I knew it was winter and this old person doesn't do the cold garage thing anymore. So it sat. Well not all the time, I was doing other upgraded in the house with parts.

IRS: Not a rubber bushing left and the loaded it up with 4.10's and rebuilt the diff.
Springs: H&R Race with Bilstien shocks and struts
Trans: Zoom Clutch, new adjustable cable, new quaderant.
Exhaust: Same flowmaster catback, swapped xpipe for prochamber.
Engine: 03/04 cobra Eaton intercooled supercharger 8psi, 39lb injectors and Termy Maf, SVT focus fuelpump,
Wheels: 18" BBS from the fox ( fox has new wheels to fit the big azz brembos up front)

Yes the cobra is my DD and 4.10's on eaton supercharger is insanity.
