Tom Wood Nissan wants $1025-$1050 parts+labor to put in a new compressor

I guess I need to find some place cheap to reclaim the freon, take it home and install my own compressor, then have it recharged. Such a PITA

Who???? Guy works at a dealership or something? I could use a hookup nearby, otherwise I'm gonna have to hitup some friends farther away and make a trek to get my shit fixed cheaper - which is more of a pain in the ass than not having AC
