JRSC'd B20Vtec CRX

Figure I would share my latest project i got going on in my neck of the woods. I got my old CRX back 2 summers ago badly in need of some repairs and never got around to repairing it due to my Built, turbo lsvtec eg coupe taking up all my time, so last winter i started tearing it down to build the Ultimate street car. Goals were simple, keep the car daily driveable with all the comforts of a daily driver keeping heat was a must, instant power on demand, able to accel at all aspects of racing (11s in the 1/4 mile and keep up around a auto x course) be able to fit in at a car show and run on 93 octane pump gas.

I got the car back in 03 or 04 with a blown headgasket and the sole intention with it was to compete in car audio with it as you can see in the pics it was rough around the edges

I was more concerned then at the time fitting in at the local sound offs so i kept the ricer lights and picked up a set of 18s for it

i ran those for a few years while i competed and decided i wanted more power then the little 1.5 would give me so i upgraded to a b16

that satisfied my power for a little bit while i was still competing, i put 10s of thousands of miles on that little motor and it never once gave me any issues. the following year i got the wild idea i wanted it to be green so me and my bud sprayed it a new color

i enjoyed the color at the time but the more i seen these stock color builds the more i realized i wanted one myself so thats where it all began

out came the motor

i was going to spring for the lht kit for the jrsc but im trying to build this car on a budget with what parts i sell from my old build and maybe next fall ill spring for it but until then this is all i got

it did come with the smaller 3.4" pulley so with a ls crank pulley it should make around 7-9 psi of boost

Some may not like the next mod but i myself cant stand looking at the old 10mm head bolts in the bay and im not paying the stupid price honda wants to replace them when they dont even look that great so i sprung for something you might see on a more exotic car

i replaced all the bolts with allen sockets, to me it looks alot cleaner under the hood to me its the small things like that, that make a car

M62 all in all should be good for about 260-280hp on the stock compression b20 with whole bunches of tq. Thanks for liking the build

Ahh, the snout is milled. There's some redline guys pushing the m62 a bit farther, but do the jrsc have the option for intercooling?

yes they have the LHT kit, its about a 1000-1300 dollar upgrade though, not quite ready to spend that till i see what areas need improvement once i get it out, i have a bad feeling that even with good tires, lsd and decent suspension that it will be a burnout machine around a auto x course

I think it will do just fine. Though what tires are you going to run, never did look when I was over there last week.
