the dsm that cant turn build
Got it home last night. The sole point of this car is to be able to have a fun fast vehicle that I can drive when I feel like driving it with out not giving me back problems. I traded my hatch minus the PIC's, type r header, and unfinished body work for this.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Drove it home with no issues. Only puffed smoke once when I got on it a little. So not sure if the head gasket is really the issue. The rough idle he was talking about I fixed with the gm maff translator. He had it adjusted wrong. List of stuff done. -evo 3 16g -full 3 in down pipe to muffler -Big front mount with hard piping -gm 3 bar maff with translator -koyo radiator -short shifter -act 2600 -injector clinic worked over 450cc injectors -dual stage boost control with switch by shifter -hard intake pipe Plans are a 2.3 eagle crank, eagle rods, cp pistons short block, bc 280 cams, master power t70 turbo and t4 manifold, ecm link, id1000 injectors, water/meth kit, quarter master twin disc, and shep trans. Hopefully all of which will be done by May of next year. And maybe a gt35r..... As of right now the head is going to come off and get milled, new seals, and ferra springs, mls gasket, and head studs. Will end up dd'ing through winter until all of the other parts are collected and put together. Let the bashing commence. hahah

can someone take the "won" out of the title? Do not know why that is in there. This thing didn't win anything....

the stroker block is a 7 bolt too. . 6 bolts from 1g's don't walk.but it's rebuilt and machined to fix that problem.... |

all sounds good except i cant understand the reasoning behind wanting a 35r when there are cheaper, better alternatives

what would you suggest. I was told a 6262 is a good option, but on the other hand they can't really be rebuilt.

You are in college, correct? Where do you plan on getting the money for this build?

I kinda wondering why you plan to do headwork like that now before u get the cams that would require the upgrade in valvetrain. It seems like an expensive upgrade to go just as fast as before.
Also..at the same time u could run an hx35...the $-power ratio wins out of the 35r anyday...and it can be rebuilt |

Head is NOT getting port and polished, just rebuilt with good springs and retainers.

yes, that did happen. But before that happens it is getting the milled head, cometic mls gasket, arps, and ecm link. Stroker motor will not be a dd.

I do not want to take the head off muliple times and have it in the shop more then once to get this done. Springs and retainers are not expensive for the 4g. I will be running bc 280's so they will be needed down the road. Might as well do it now since it will be in the shop and won't cost any extra for install.
