An ls/lsvtec with small turbo should max out around that 250hp mark and be decently reliable, as long as its tuned right. Most of my knowledge is from heavy platform hondas but in the prelude world neptune has been looked down on, haven't done any research on rpt though. S300 is still the preferable option for us but I'm going with eManage in case I do move back to Chicago.

My current project is h22a4 head/ block/ pistons with f23 crank and rods. I'm looking at s2 tunner cams with the stock springs and 3angle valve job, probably euroR intake mani/ type s airbox and the new vibrant header.

Should be good for 180-200whp na, but in a higher price range than your turbo setup. I've still got to work some things out once I pick up a f23 to pull apart. For a future build a similar setup could easily net 220-230whp with cams, valves, tye s/s2k pistons, and arp rod bolts and be alittle more reliable than a turbo build.

Just for future reference. I'll start a build thread once I verify some concerns with p2v clearances.

As far as installing hondata I think I would send it to a hondata dealer. I picked my up allready installed with a base tune for my gsr at phearable.net I believe. Plugged it in started it right up and street tuned it from there.

Yeah, could just sell my chipped ecu I guess to make up some of the difference. 450 for plug and play kit, how ever that works. Or 700 for it installed and including ecu.

Ok, figured out a game plan that is realistic. As much as I would like to do what I really want it would be a bad idea. Im working full time, 16 credit hours of math, cad, engineering classes. And will be working a 6 month co-op (unpaid)next year. I wont be able to enjoy the hatch as much as I would like and it would be a waste to drop all the money into that. So here is my official made up my mind plan.

The teg is going to get the most attention, I drive it Every day. I hate it in its current state. Want to drive it into a tree. Anyway, the hatch is back together waiting on me to plug stuff in and finish the rust work. Going to leave it primer through winter since ill prob start dding to btown and work. While this is being driven the teg is going to lose a cam and gain forged rods and pistons via a vitara build. Just use all my turbo stuff on it and make ita nice daily that can get 35+mpg. And since ill have an extra ls sitting in my barn I can do what a few were telling me to do. Oem refresh type r-ish build for the hatc. Maybe a little more. I am also going to be trading my slips for am lsd ys1 trans that save me a bunch on having to buy diff for now.

I think ill be happier being able to have fun in the daily every day... Ill save wanting a 400whp fwd road course car till I'm done with school and get much more seat time.

Need a machine shop recomendation. South west side. I dont care about names, just good work.

I will need a block decked and honed. Crank polished and check for clearances. Pistons and rods put together and balanced. I can put the engine together on my own

My guy that I normaly go to closed up shop and retired from his retirment business. was like in his 80's. Lol. Prob wont find some one as cheap as he was but thats fine.

Would prob go here for both engines. But built d would be first.

Thanks for any help. And no, no stewarts or big shops like that.

Luke if you see this let me know if you guys are still doing this stuff.

prices for ls motors have tanked man, 400 would be a stretch now a days and that is complete with injectors, distributor etc etc... who ever does your machine work i would probably just spring for the little bit more and have them assemble the bottom end IMO

just gonna point out that for 4200 plus gas to ship it you could have an e36 m3, and best of all proper wheel drive. (this means power goes to BOTH REAR wheels)

Used BMW M3 in 46218 - Cars.com

BMW M3 | eBay

lots of deals to be had

but e36 m3 coupe owners are dicks tony, plus theyre both 95's, which the s50 will nickle and dime you to death with maintenence and the unique to the s50 issues that usually result in them being s52 or lsx swapped

Yeah, would be nice to own one. But not to maintain one. I think I found my calling though. Tony, pm your number, had to get a new phone and lost all of mine a few months back.

And you never did let me know if that head worked out for you...
