DVD Ripping program

So today my 400 disc DVD Changer took a dump, and I'm pretty sure my extended warranty is up. I'm wanting to just rip all my DVD's to .avi files and put them on a drive to play through my PS3, like my other saved movies already are...

Anyone know if there's there a decent program out there that will decode, rip, and convert to .avi...? I've looked and I keep getting trial versions, and programs that don't do it all in one...and I don't want to shell out money for a bad program that doesn't do everything I want it to.

Thanks in advance,

Dave

You can use DVD Decrypter to store the exact copy on your computer, but it decrypts them as VIDEO_TS folders/files, which can take up to 8GB of space per DVD. The plus side is, if you recode a DVD (with Nero Recode) using those VIDEO TS files, it will also include all menus, subtitles, special features/languages, etc.

I have no idea what the best way to convert those to AVI would be.

or you can use dvd decrypter...then dvd shrink...and burn in to a disk

but the last time i've used the decrypter it was either outdated or just quit working with the newer dvds that were coming out.

Okay, So I've used DVD Shrink to decode and "shrink"...then WINX DVD to rip to .avi.

Came out great, but I need to run it on the TV to make sure the video and audio are good on a larger screen.

I usually use DVD Decrypter and then Handbrake to convert but AnyDVD is very good as well.
