Fans will be admitted free to the GRAND-AM Road Racing Open Test Friday, July 6 and Saturday, July 7 on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, offering a great preview of exciting sports car racing action coming later this month to the Kroger Super Weekend at the Brickyard.

Public viewing areas include the Turn 2 Viewing Mounds, the South Terrace grandstands located in front of the IMS Hall of Fame Museum, the IMS Hall of Fame Museum East parking lot and a designated area along Fifth Street behind the Hall of Fame Museum. The detailed test schedule for both days:

9-10 a.m. Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge
10:15-11:15 a.m. Rolex Sports Car Series
11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge

2:45-3:30 p.m. Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge
3:45-4:45 p.m. Rolex Sports Car Series

GRAND-AM will conduct separate races for its Rolex Sports Car Series and Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge at IMS for the first time Friday, July 27. These races will join with the Rolex 24 At Daytona and the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International in determining the winners of the prestigious new North American Endurance Championship presented by VISITFLORIDA.com for 2012.

IMS will be the epicenter of American stock car racing and North American sports car racing July 26-29 as the NASCAR Nationwide Series and GRAND-AM Road Racing will join the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for four exciting races during the inaugural Kroger Super Weekend at the Brickyard.
It will be the first time in IMS history that races will take place on the 2.5-mile oval and 2.534-mile Grand Prix road course during the same weekend, and the NASCAR Nationwide Series and GRAND-AM Road Racing will make their IMS debuts.
