I can see that video being taken down and the device being used by the government/armed forces.

ArduPilot is classified as a guidance system by the government. Funny that you think that way - bc you are right. The fact that you can set waypoints and it can get to them autonomously is why when you order a hexacopter, octocopter or quadcopter w/ any kind of co-pilot you have to assemble it yourself. They come in a box of parts bc the Gov has made it illegal to purchase a "UAV" as a simple "click to buy."

My FPV rigs have DragonOSD and the only autonomous feature it has is "return to home" - basically if I lose video or RC control it flies back to where I am and circles overhead at a pre-determined altitude.

(The trick to selling UAVs is to PRETEND to be non US-based and you can get away with it)

Gotta love loopholes. I know of 3 guys who have swinglets here in the US.

I play guitar (me on the right)

I'm also going to be designing/building/selling my own guitar cabinets starting this winter.
And mountain biking, I do that a lot.

^^ Pretty kool. I'm a musician as well.

BTW - the Swinglet is $10,000 for the base model - so don't even think about it.

More from the guy we hate --- his rig is BAD ASS - his cameras are always BAD ASS - his piloting skills are always on point.

By the way - the "glider" he is filiming costs $4099.00 in kit form (meaning you STILL have to build it - LOL) - it's a RC glider as well - not "real" - yet the pilot trust him to get in real close.

Here's the glider : Pretty expensive "toy" I'd say.

Last one for the night - bedtime ladies. This guy is the reason why I chose the Multiplex Twinstar2 as my 1st FPV rig... I have a LONG way to go before I can make videos like these - but I'm getting there.

Nitro stuff is "okay" but the battery technology is there now. Even the 3D guys are going electric. I can get an hour of flying with my TwinStar if I'm doing good throttle management. Fuel stinks - eats through paint - and is also expensive. I remem as a kid haveing nitro planes b/c the batt technology sucked - no1 doing electric were doing more than 5 mins back then. It's a different day. Hell even park-flyers the AMA will not insure you if it's a nitro plane anymore.

And as a T-Rex owner I will tell you that the quadcopters, hexacopter and octocopters are the most STABLE platforms you can have right now. On my BEST day w/ my T-Rex a basic Gaui quadcopter will hover and hold much better as well as handle crosswinds. Show me a single shaft heli this stable as this video - even in a .60 or .90 size. (look at the wind reference using the flag in the video). A .60 or .90 wouldn't make a video this stable w/ that crosswind.

Boston terriers! I have two and they are a great hobby and quick learners, even if they are little spaz's!

---

Home audio/video - I love watching movies and listening to music:

I made the screen myself, and bought the frame border at hobby lobby on a 50% off clearance; 2.5" border wood frame from hobby lobby, 1/4" harboard coated with 4 coats of behr premium ultra in silverscreen...plus some sandding techniques. Setup is: Polk TSi 400 main speakers, CS20 center channel, PWS125 sub, OWM3 surrounds, Yamaha RX-V467 receiver, samsung internet bluray, xbox 360, Sanyo Z700 1080p projector, Scientific atlanta HDTV digital cable DVR. Furniture is all Walmart, Ikea, Meijer, etc... except the rug which is from house works and was fuckin' expensive LOL

Downstairs everyday setup:

Philips center channels from old HTIB kit as my L/R mains, ML vignette as my center channel, Philips HTIB mains as my surrounds, Dual philips 90w powered 6" sub woofers ("5.2" setup heh)...Insignia 32" LED/LCD 1080pTV, $20 entertainment center from menards display sale (LOL!), Yamaha RX-V367 receiver, Scientific Atlanda HDTV digital cable DVR, Insignia internet bluray

----

Up until I ruptured a disc in my back:

Cycling! 60-75 miles a week until about august of this year, then I had to stop....

---

Just getting into these:

I want more and some fancier ones...but $$$$ pwns me, too many damn hobbies!

---

Finally, getting into TIG welding and some wood working as well. Made a king sized platform bed over the winter, and just started TIG welding this week. I also MIG weld and love welding in general and any sort of fab work. Getting better everyday!

dirty newbie wood workin tewls!

Pull those speakers up about 6-8" off the back wall. You'll thank me later.

Sucks about room limitations, though. Your LF channel HAS to be in that corner, doesn't it?

My other hobbie is 2-channel audio. Pics might follow. Or not. Depends if i remember.

Electrics are so much cleaner and reliable too. I have had an Electrifly Reactor Bipe but it had a pretty bad landing on the 4th flight (totalled it). I just built a Leadfeather Yak 55 to do 3-d with and I'm picking it up pretty quickly. I hope I can get out today and fly some. I want to get into the FPV stuff to, but I think I'll wait until it gets more affordable. My Eagle plane I can get 45+ minutes from a 1800 mah batt. It's awesome to chase squirrels with and most people at the park think it's real. The T-28's are also awesome planes. Right now I'm really into scratch built foamies.

My T28 with retracts (still working on).
My "Twins" cargo plane with working cargo door.

Right now I'm working on selling my Turbo Neon so I can get into a new hobby, adventure riding on a Honda XR650L.

Lots of varied interests out there - good stuff!! My TV is never on - although I do love music... usually have some jazz playing if you come over. I don't get to gig uch these days but a few of my buddies hit me up to fill in on drums/bass/vocals in a pinch and it's always fun.

I'll always be a car guy - don't get me wrong. But I will finish the cars I own and be happy - outside of a RHD Austin Cooper I already own all the cars that I would want. *strong statement I know*

I like animals - but also if I want to just leave for a week and not come back I don't want to have to coordinate that. That's prob because I'm selfish I've already went through the motorcycle phase (sport bikes) - never did dirtbikes though. That 1st mini-bike looked kool - I could see getting into the modified Ruckuseseses.

And Monday - BEVRC and Hobbyking has some CHEAP "ready to fly" FPV setups - might wanna look into it. It'll be 300mw stuff but that'll get you a half mile out easy if you have a decent Tx. If you're flying on 2.4 for RC just grab 900mhz video setup and you're ready to go.

EXAMPLE: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...dProduct=13439

Cheers

I always giggle a little when I learn of people's interest in R/C planes...here's why:
http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/teamrcu-george.cfm

He does more RandD stuff for the large scale planes now. Last time I was at his place, he was working on a new motor with some company he couldn't mention.
