Mikes Express damage...

I have been sitting on this for about a week thinking there is nothing I can do, which is probably more true now that it's been a week. But I went through with the basic wash (have a wash bool to use up) just to get the salt and crap off of my car early last week or maybe it was last weekend. Anyway, I went through around 8pm, stayed in the next day, and then finally the day after I saw my car in the daylight and noticed 3 scratches running from my bumper all the way up my hood, like something had dragged on it in the car wash. This definitely wasnt there before and wasnt done in the driveway...

What could I have done? What can I do? I generally walk around the car after a wash but it was chilly, I had shorts on (from the gym), and was ready to get home

Being at night I likely wouldnt have seen them anyhow. The next time I saw my car in the light was 2 days later Guess I'll just pony up and get a 07+ hood and have it painted.

Step 1: never go to mikes
Step 2: never go to mikes
Step 3: never go to any automated wash ever

i went through the same issue with them with my TBSS, they are fucking douchebags over there at MIKES, even at the corp level all they were willing to do was give me a coupon for 3 basic washes!?!?!?! "you really think after your car wash ripped off my corvette hitch cover i want to go back there???" anyways i feel horrible for the car that went through after me and having a corvette emblem being smacked on their car

It can't hurt to go up there and at the very minimum bring it to the managers attention. There may have been a couple other complaints that day and they might do something. Being this far after the fact, I wouldn't hold my breath though. The key is going in there calm and remaining calm.

Go back and talk to them. I worked there for a few years, and saw "several" people get scratches etc fixed. Tell them what time you went through on what day and they can watch you pull up, go through, and exit the tunnel on the camera system. If they're large enough, may be able to see on camera that they weren't there when you went in.

Key is, like said above...Go In there calm and civil. Even though its a "super corporate" company now, they're not all "douchebags" there. There are countless high end BMWs and Mercedes that go through there fine everyday, but some people think their $20k car will be totaled in there. I'd have no problem taking my S2000 in there with the carbon hardtop on. Wouldn't care with the soft top if I didn't have a couple small tears in it.

@ChrisCrane- there are signs posted that state they're not responsible for non-factory installed parts. Be glad they offered you car washes. Should've taken those, sold them to someone else and bought a new hitch cover with said proceeds.

And if that doesn't work, just crash your car into the building, get out of your car and say "your building scratched my car." That'll show em.

^^^ cause it's not like they wouldn't notice scratches on ur car before lol

I worked there for awhile too and if u have a genuine problem.. They'll take care of you. I worked there for about a year and while I was there they replace gas covers, several antennas, paid to repaint hoods and fenders. If u have scratches on u car before your not going to be able to go through the wash and say they did it.. Any car wash company knows to atleast take a look at the car before sending it through.

regardless the way they handled it was less then stealer after all those cheesy commercials they run...

Im leaving out the part how when i bought the unlimited wash pass the manager told me when i no longer wanted it just come in and tell them and they would cancel it and after that straw with the hitch cover i decided then i was done with them and went in to cancel and the different manger in there basically told me i was a idiot and no one in that car wash would tell somebody that because they all know you have to call the corp number to cancel..... need less to say they took it out for 2 more months after i called corp to cancel and it took me 2 days of polishing to get all the swirl marks out of my dark colored truck

Hey, at least this one is still current. Even if he isn't posting content.
